Jim has been a part of the Weicht Funeral Home ‘family’ for the past 10 years. He brings a deep commitment to ministerial service to his position as our Licensed Pre-arrangement and Family Services Counselor. In fact, he’s got 43 years of service in the ministry, including the 33 years of ministerial service in Steuben County.
Many of you may know him as the minister of the Angola Christian Church. He has filled that important role for the past nine years.
His work here at Weicht Funeral Home is three-fold. He works with families as a pre-arrangement advisor, and is licensed to perform this important duty. He is also our family grief counselor, helping families during the early days after loss. And Jim is responsible to all our client families as our Aftercare Services provider. He remains in touch with families in the weeks and months after a funeral, assisting them with the emotional challenges they face during bereavement.
Jim is a veteran of the Air Force Honor Guard during the Vietnam era. He and Jeanine, his wife of over 40 years, have one grown son. Jeanine is very involved with the day-to-day activities of the Angola Christian Church.
His passion has long been automobile racing. “Up until a few years ago, I raced my own cars; but now, I have the more simple pleasure of watching others challenge themselves behind the wheel. While Jeanine isn’t an avid racing fan, the two of them enjoy collecting antiques, and all the related activities involved with that hobby.
