HUDSON - Genevieve M. Otis Stafford, 74, of Hudson, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler. She worked at Scott's in Angola. Mrs. Stafford was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church in Salem Center, Ind. She was born Nov. 22, 1937 in Coldwater, Mich. to Darious and Myrtle Otis. She married Leonard "Jack" Stafford on Oct. 6, 1956. Surviving are: three sons, Leonard and Adela Stafford, Cincinnati, Ohio, Bruce and Deb Stafford, Brooksville, Fla., and Billy Stafford, Hudson; three daughters, Barbara and Phillip Amburgey, Hamilton, Laura and Rory Steele, Prospect, Tenn., and Brenda and Steve Hoyt, Kendallville; one brother, Rex and Kathy Otis, Coldwater, Mich.; one sister, Esther Latta, Reading, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard "Jack" Stafford on Feb. 6, 1996; and two brothers, Dale Otis and Glen Otis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with Pastor Jack Smith officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Ind. Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Barbara Amburgey. The guestbook may be signed online at The Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.

I had the privelege of caring for Genevieve at the Laurels. As I got to know her more, I learned she was a very caring and funny person. I enjoyed the time I got to spend with her, and will miss her greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. God bless you all.
