ANGOLA - Mary Ella Alford, 82, of Angola, died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, Angola. Mrs. Alford was born Sept. 8, 1929 in Melbourne, Ark., to Andrew and Golden Pearl (Anderson) Foster. She married Gerald Alford on April 26, 1947. Mrs. Alford worked for the Portage School System for 28 years, retiring in 1988. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Sue Alford of Angola and Ronald and Bobbi Alford of Auburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Kerry Hoyer of Pleasant Lake; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and five sisters. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, with Pastor Mike Cain officiating. Burial is in Mount Zion Cemetery, Steuben County. Calling is from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are to Lake Missionary Church, What If Fund.
