John James Lohse Jr., 64, of Snow Lake died at peace on Saturday, March 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 1, 1951 in Fort Wayne to John Sr. and Ann (Augustyniak) Lohse.  He graduated from South Side High School in 1969 where he played football.  He married Cindy K. Lohse in November 1975.

He worked for PRR, Conrail, and later for the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was an occasional DJ who loved to play the “Blues”.  Jim always worked hard to provide for his family and lent a helping hand to anyone who asked.  When not working, “Loh” could often be found socializing around the lake or in his garage tending to his woodburner and jamming to the blues.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years Cindy Lohse of Snow Lake; his son JJ Lohse of Indianapolis; two sisters Jenifer Mora of Fort Wayne and Joy Lohse of Winona Lake; one brother Joe and Laurie Lohse of Fort Wayne and several nieces Jeanie (Nate), Mary (Dan), Anja, August, Tatum and nephew Luke and many more extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Julia Lohse and infant brother Joel Lohse.

Funeral Services will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Weicht Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne C. Berkesch officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers preferred memorials may be given to the Steuben County Humane Society, Angola.

Charitable donations may be made in John's memory to the following organization:

JJ will be greatly missed. Spent Monday Wednesday and Friday with him he always kept me laughing. He always wanted to know if his heart was playing the Blues. I would say yes it is it is playing B.B. King. I am very sorry for your loss. JJ was a terrfic person. He was always bringing us donuts when he came in and tell us that was for our great job.

Dear Cindy, Jenny , Joy and Joe,

Jimmy was my friend. We first met at Packard Park playing basketball. Later at South Side High School, we became better friends resulting a group of guys named the Luggs. I remember the BS sessions we had in the home of Jim's parents, John and Ann. John was fun to listen to. His favorite statement "What's it all mean?" To me it met friendship. I've lost a good friend.
