Coreen “Nannie” J. Irving, 88, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, in her home, with her family by her side.
Coreen was born on June 25, 1935, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to Wilbur and Thurley N. Wells. She was raised on a farm, helping her brother and parents. Coreen was especially close with her cousin, Jackie. She graduated as valedictorian of the Groton High School class of 1953. Coreen retired after 19 years of service from Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, New Hampshire. In her free time, she enjoyed music and word searches. She loved basking in the sun on Maidstone Lake. Coreen’s greatest love was animals. Following the passing of her husband, Coreen relocated to Angola, Indiana with her daughter and family.
Surviving is her daughter, Alida Frizzell and her husband William “Bill” Frizzell. She has nine beloved grandchildren, Tamilla (Sanborn) Cyrus, Stacey (Sanborn) Montgomery, Tiffanie (Frizzell) Heingartner, Joshua Frizzell, Angella (Call) Richard, Jack Call, Brandon Call, Rena (Call) Kirk and Sean Irving. Also surviving are her 10 adored great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law’s, Edna (Welch) Wells and Nena (Irving) Gonyer and stepson, Michael Irving.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, Harry Irving, her brother, Bruce Wells, and stepdaughter, Terry (Irving) Call. Also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Teter (Irving) Swif, and brother-in-law, Joe Irving.
No funeral or viewing will be held, in accordance with Coreen’s wishes. A small celebration of life will be held in her honor on an undetermined date.
