Diana J. Roe, 90, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at her home.
Diana was born on December 27, 1933, in Angola, Indiana to Glen Spencer and Mary Jane (McElgunn) Beatty. She graduated from Angola High School in 1952, received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, then completed her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of St Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She married the love of her life, Donald L. Roe, on June 16, 1956, in Angola, Indiana.
Diana loved the Lord and was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church, Angola Garden Club, Psi Iota Xi and the Angola Garden Club. She was past president of the Carnegie Public Library Board of Directors and was a member of the Angola Tree Board of Directors. She also was a member of the Cameron Memorial Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Diana and Donald enjoyed sailing and took many sailing vacations with their friends. She enjoyed making memories at their summer home on Lake James. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 67 years, Donald L. Roe of Angola, Indiana; her son, Philip (Tara) Roe of Fremont, Indiana; four beloved grandchildren, Ellen Roe, Kennedy (Dylan) Recht, Karragen Roe and Taegan Roe and her two great grandchildren that she adored, Aviva Recht and Atlas Recht. Also surviving is her sister, Pamela (Steven) Wolverton of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Stephen Beatty Roe and grandson, Matthew Philip Roe.
Following Diana’s wishes there will be no services.
