Eugenio "Geno" Charnley Obituary

In Loving Memory of a Devoted Husband, Dad, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul whose life was a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, and kindness. Geno P. Charnley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend, left this world April 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and unwavering compassion.

Born into a loud, loving, Catholic family to Ross L. Charnley and Rita M. (Pursley), Geno embraced the values of hard work and integrity from a young age. Throughout his life, he exemplified these principles, earning the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path. His dedication to his family was unmatched, and his passion for his wife of over 44 years, Marlena Jo, taught his daughters the power of a partnership full of love, laughter, and genuine care.

A devoted father, Geno found his greatest joy and pride in the company of his daughters, Jessica (Jason) Anderson, Dara (Matt) Sparling, and Ashley (Holden Harmes) Charnley. He cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom, sharing laughter, and offering unconditional love. His presence was a source of strength and guidance, shaping their lives in profound ways.

As "Papa," Geno radiated warmth and affection, adoring his grandchildren, Laithan, Lachlan, Lowan, Eve, Lanie, Isaac, and Lydan. He delighted in their laughter, their hugs, and listening intently to their stories. They will carry his legacy of love and laughter for generations to come.

A true friend in every sense of the word, Geno touched countless lives with his genuine warmth and authentic spirit. He possessed a remarkable ability to help others grow, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Geno had a passion for life that was palpable. He loved singing along to Elvis, riding with the top down on his beloved Jeep, and relishing in the simple pleasures of good food and great company. He especially enjoyed family gatherings with “the Benedicts” – Ron, Patti, Zach, and Jacob, which always resulted in hours of storytelling and side-splitting laughter. His zest for life was contagious, inspiring all who knew him to embrace each moment with gratitude and enthusiasm.

Though he may no longer walk among us, Geno's spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved. In honoring his legacy, may we strive to emulate his boundless love, unwavering faith, and enduring kindness, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts forevermore.
