PLEASANT LAKE - Mary Louise Goetschius, 88, of Pleasant Lake died Monday, May 30, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Goetschius was a school teacher and a librarian. She taught school in Franklin, Pa., Lewistown, Pa., and Cumberland, Md. She served as a librarian for the Carnegie Public Library of Steuben County for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Family Episcopal Church in Angola. Mrs. Goetschius served as a volunteer for the Steuben County Literacy Coalition. She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in York, Pa., to Oscar and Mary (Edwards) Kraybill. They are deceased. She married the Rev. Emmett M. Goetschius on Oct. 26, 1945. He died Oct. 28, 2004. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Karen Goetschius of Pittsburg, Pa., Paul and Judy Goetschius of Erie, Pa., Mark and Julie Goetschius of Hicksville, Ohio; a sister; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessie Goetschius. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Weicht Funeral Home in Angola. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Goetschius officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Lake Cemetery in Pleasant Lake. Memorials are to Holy Family Epsicopal Church, 909 S. Darling St., Angola, IN 46703.
