Throughout my high school years, I was fortunate to be invited to the Givens home. Mrs. Givens always greeted me and cared for me as if I were a family member. The ingredients for large ham sandwiches that were ever present within the Givens' welcoming refrigerator have never been equaled anywhere throughout the world. And while time and distance has separated me from her and the rest of the Givens' clan, the kindness and hospitality of her gentle nature, and her laughter at my stupid jokes and assorted teenager antics have and will forever be held close to my heart. Jim and Bob, I'm so sorry for your loss. Know that your Mom had an unforgettable impact on at least one other life. May God comfort you, your wives and your children.
