Marilyn Goudy, 94, died on Friday, July 20, 2018, at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana, surrounded by family.

She was born on January 25, 1924, in Ligonier, Indiana to Bernard and Wave (Mason) Baughman.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Jack B. Goudy, sister, Betty Renner, and great-granddaughter Raeanna Lynn McCourry.

As a result of her husband’s military career, serving in the Army Air Corp in WWII and the Air Force, they enjoyed living many places from Angola, Dayton, Ohio, Inyokern, California, Alabama, Maryland, Brussels, Belgium and Alexandria, Virginia.  After 27 years of service, they retired to a leisure life on Lake James.

Marilyn enjoyed birding, bowling, gardening, cooking and bridge games at the Moose.  She was very creative.  Besides being a gourmet cook where she pleased family and friends with her culinary dishes, she was also an exceptional artist.

She left Ligonier in her late teens and moved to Chicago to attend the Chicago Institute of Fine Arts.  Many a baby took their first dip in the lake with Marilyn as their guide.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion.

Marilyn is survived by her son John (Cheryl) Goudy of Angola, Daughter Patricia (James) Clackler of Ashville, North Carolina, Daughter Sue (John) Goudy of Sycamore, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ian Goudy, Catlin de Hebread, Jennifer McCourry and Aaron Clackler and ten great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be arranged at a later date.
