Alan D. “Al” Grubb, 64, of Angola, Indiana passed away on September 10, 2018 with his family by his side at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on May 4, 1954 in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania to Ted and Mary Alice (Luke) Grubb.  He married Carolyn Bowen on November 14, 1987.

Mr. Grubb worked for 38 years for the Angola City Police Department as a dispatcher.  He had a nickname for everyone and everyone knew his voice on the scanner.  He retired earlier this year in 2018.  As a gift for his retirement he got to go with his wife to see the Wanamaker Organ, which was a trip that he always wanted to make.

Mr. Grubb played the organ for several of the local churches in the area and also for many funerals and weddings.  He enjoyed collecting vintage appliances.  He enjoyed baking goodies to give to other people but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving is his loving wife of 30 years, Carolyn Grubb of Angola, Indiana; his father, Ted (Maggie) Grubb of Bedford, Pennsylvania; three daughters, Linda Roberts of Odessa, Florida, Sara (Josh) Harwell of Bryan, Ohio and Stacy (Craig) Hand of Bryan, Ohio; two sisters, Brenda (Gary) Crist of Waterloo, Indiana and Karina (Phil) Nott of Spotsylvania, Virginia.  Along with five grandchildren, Courtney Bashore, Jacob Glore, Stephen Roberts, Brandon Alan Roberts and Jesse Hand.  He has one great-granddaughter that is on the way.  Also surviving are his beloved Nieces and Nephews that meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Grubb in 1978 and his brother Douglas Grubb in 2009.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the United Methodist Church, Angola, Indiana with Pastor Tim Terrell and Rev. Jeffrey Gowen officiating.

Burial will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.

Dear Carolyn and family, So very very sorry to hear about AL's passing. He was such a good man and so much fun. Countless hours of visiting with him and laughing so hard. Wow what a guy. Loved hearing him play the organ and watching his expressions while he played. He will be missed by many but mainly by you and the kids. So let God help you through this rough time and know your friends are here to help you too, sincerely

I can still hear my Dad calling him "Grubby" with such endearment! He loved him so much! Al was a friend of our family through out all my life. I cannot express to Caroline and the family how much he has been loved, respected and cared about in our family! I looked up to him. To Caroline, you are such a sweet, dear, loving person. Please, please know that there are many here praying for you and surrounding you with prayers. My Mom will definitely be there for you. A great man was lost and I will praying for every one of you. I know he is well received in heaven, I just know.

Prayers and hope cannot stop the Lord when he calls us home. The most wonderful blessing is when he calls us to our heavenly reward. Alan is their and praising the savior for he has been accepted to stand by his Lord and await his family to come home too.
Rest assure he is painless and experiencing what we all will one day that believes in Christ Jesus and have accepted him as our Savior.
Be still and patient, Jesus will call.

Alan was loved by so many. We all have so many stories that we could tell about him that would bring, smiles, laughter and maybe even tears. He was so special to all of us. And now he is pain free and in the presence of our savior. Carolyn, trust in God' don’t give up, I know personally as I’ve just gone thru this. Not easy, but doable. God loves you.

Carolyn and family, I was so shocked to hear of Al’s passing from son,”Petie”, yesterday. He was a sweet man and loved to hear his voice. You were lucky to have him all these years. He will be missed by all. May God comfort and sustain you in the days ahead. Do you remember our bowling days at the Redwood?
