Alice Eble Obituary

Alice M. Eble, 96, of Angola, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Lakeland Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, IN. She was born September 25, 1916 to Orville "Roy" and Ethel (Poyser) Davis in South Bend, IN. She married Paul Eble on February 16, 1942. Alice co-owned Eble's Music Store in Angola, IN. She also had worked at Angola State Bank; Kroger Store, Angola, IN; was the Steuben County Recorder for 4 years and worked as a Deputy Recorder in the Steuben County Recorder's Office; was the Clerk of the City of Angola. She was a member and had been the organist of the Angola United Methodist Church. She received the BPW's "Women of the Year" and was the Executive Director Emeritus of the Steuben County Cancer Association. She was a member of the Steuben County Republican Party; Republican Precinct Committee person and Vice Chairman of the Steuben County Republican Central Committee. Alice started and was a charter member of the Steuben County Humane Society. She collected and sold antiques with her husband, Paul. She is survived by her husband Paul Eble of Angola, IN and her sister Ruth Davis, South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Evelyn Doan. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, IN with Pastor Tim Terrell officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Steuben County Cancer Association, Angola, IN.
