ANGOLA - Betty L. Mailand, 81, of Angola died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at Lakeland Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola. Mrs. Mailand was the owner of the Sunset Inn in Angola and the Corner Pocket in Fremont for 22 years. She was a member of the Angola American Legion Post 31 Auxiliary, Angola Women of the Moose and the Angola Kids League. She was born May 16, 1930, in Monroeville to Charles and Norma (Clay) Rexroth. Surviving are a son, Kent (Jan) Mailand of Angola; three daughters, Connie (Kenneth) Wass of Pittsboro, Gala (John) Kline of Edon, Ohio, and Jodi (Kevin) Belt of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Luella Richardson of Fremont; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Weicht Funeral Home in Angola with Pastor Kevin Belt and Pastor Joan North officiating. Inurnment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.
