Carolyn Elouise Cripe, 91, of Russiaville, Indiana, formerly of Angola, Indiana, died on Monday, January 13, 2025, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.
Carolyn was born on November 4, 1933, in Hudson, Indiana to Raymond and Naomi (Putt) Rensch. She graduated Valedictorian from Butler High School. Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree in English and French from Manchester College, North Manchester, Indiana and her master’s degree in library science from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
Carolyn married F. Florian Cripe on June 5, 1955.
She worked as a Librarian for Tri-State University until retiring in 1994.
Carolyn was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her sons, Fritz (Beth) Cripe of Russiaville, Indiana and Dan (Karen) Cripe of Round Rock, Texas; daughter, Katrina (Rich) Gutknecht of Nashville, Indiana and her son-in-law, Scott Donaho of Shipshewana, Indiana; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, F. Florian Cripe on May 26, 2023, and her daughter, Lisa Donaho.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
The final resting place will be in Fairfield Center Cemetery at a later date.
