The world is a little quieter now, as Charles “Chuck” Verba, 65, has taken his final rest—not that he ever sat still for long. Chuck passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his home in Angola, Indiana.
Chuck was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and unapologetic goofball. He spent his time at baseball games, fishing, enjoying pool parties, cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, and supporting Huntington University’s men’s basketball team. His life was lived with a full heart and a quick wit, always ready with a joke that made you groan but an extra, extra-large hug that made you stay.
Chuck loved his wife with deep devotion, raised his sons with just the right mix of wisdom and well-placed sarcasm, and spoiled his grandchildren beyond repair--especially with countless rides on Ol’ Yeller. His laughter will linger in every family gathering, his advice will echo in his family's choices, and his love will remain stitched into the fabric of those lucky enough to have known him. Though Chuck has left this phase of life, rest assured-he probably left behind a to-do list for us all.
Chuck will be reunited in Heaven with his father, Alexander Verba; his mother, Rachel Verba; his brother, Alex Verba, Jr. “Bugs”; his brother-in-law, Russ White and his nephew, Craig. He leaves behind his wife of nearly twenty-five years, Tammy Verba; four sons, Chase (Krista) Verba, Cole (Jennifer) Verba, Shane (Haley) Livensparger, and Mitch Livensparger; grandchildren, Everett, Hudson, Max, Bennett, Landon, Madeline, and McKenna; his sisters, Liz White and Sue Verba; sister-in-law, Teri Verba; his “BDNE,” Skip (Alyssa), Olivia, Jayden, Wayland, and Everly Weinreich; and many other family members and friends.
Originally from Larwill, Indiana, Chuck later made his home in Angola, where he became a faithful member of Fairview Missionary Church. It is there that Chuck will have his final goodbyes given.
