Darrel "Bob" R. Walter

Darrel R. “Bob” Walter Jr., 73, of Orland, Indiana, died on Monday, October 30, 2023, in Fremont, Indiana.

He was born on April 29, 1950, in Angola, Indiana to Darrel R. “Bob” and Betty (Mayse) Walter Sr.  Bob graduated from Angola High School in 1968.

Bob started working for the Angola Parks and Recreation Department in 1985 as seasonal maintenance.  In the 1990’s he became Superintendent and retired in 2012.

Bob married Marlene Grace Pruisman on July 31, 1987.

He had served his country in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Orland American Legion Post 423.

Surviving are his children, Angela (Thornton Maver) Woods of Walkerton, Indiana and Matthew Walter of Stroh, Indiana; stepchildren, Katherine (Larry) Wallace of Topeka, Indiana, Jennifer Searcy of Brimley, Michigan and Elizabeth (Robert) Minton of Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Also surviving are his 4 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Dwight David (Lisa) Walter of Angola, Indiana and Donald Walter of Angola, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marlene Walter on March 30, 2019.

There will be no services at this time.
