David Ralph Emmert

David Ralph Emmert, 70, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

David was born on November 26, 1954, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He was the son of the late Donald G. and Maryanna Jane (Vande Biezen) Emmert.  David graduated from Schoolcraft High School in 1972.

David was proud to serve in the United States Army.  A heavy weapons expert, Sgt. Emmert served with Company. 2nd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), he was a Green Beret.  He was a member of the American Legion.

David enjoyed traveling with his long-time companion, Kelly Gallanger.  His favorite place to go was the Upper Peninsula in Michigan.  David loved being outdoors and going camping and fishing.  He also liked to go antiquing.

Surviving is his significant other, Kelly Gallinger of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; his brother, William (Nancy) Emmert of Mattawan, Michigan and sister, DiAnn (Stanley) Brouwer of Bangor, Michigan.

Following David’s wishes there will be no services at this time.
