Diane Kay Hersch, 74, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana near Angola, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Hospice Care, Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Diane was born on July 7, 1951, in Bremen, Indiana to the late Paul R. Klotz and M. June (Lemler) Klotz.
Diane is survived by her companion and good friend, Leo Lutz of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and his family, Shawn Lutz of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and C.J. Lutz of Bath, Michigan. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers, Carol and Gary Kinsey, Steve and Cherri Klotz, Janet and Tom Shaver, Elaine and Greg Crump, Jim and Donna Klotz, Jerry and Pam Klotz and Pam and Chad Roe.
Diane’s hometown was Nappanee, Indiana where she was a 1969 graduate of Nappanee High School. She was employed as a factory worker at Coppess Furniture and Persing and Company, and later as an insurance representative in Warsaw and Walkerton.
Diane was affectionately known by many of her friends as “The Hat Lady.” She loved spending her Saturdays shopping at garage sales and flea markets. She also enjoyed making lighted Christmas baskets, loved Southern Gospel Music, singing, and taking pontoon rides on Golden Lake.
Diane attended Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Fairview Missionary Church,
525 E. 200 N., Angola, IN 46703. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, prior to the service at the church.
