Donna Kriete Obituary

Angola

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Sue (Harmon) Kriete, who was born on April 20, 1946, and passed away on July 8, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth Harmon, and she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Shirley (Harmon) Branham and Janice “Jan” Harmon. She married her late husband, Harlan William “Bill” Kriete, on September 17, 1966, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.

Donna is survived by her beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Hosford (Jason Hosford) of Albion, IN and Andrea Millard (Matthew Millard) of Byron Center, MI. Her greatest joy was being a Grandma. She cherished every moment with her four grandchildren: Madelyn Hosford, Jeffrey Hosford, Anna Millard, and Mark Millard. She took great pride in watching each of them grow, celebrating every one of their milestones and accomplishments along the way.

She dedicated much of her professional life to serving others, first as Lab Director at Cameron Hospital in Angola, Indiana, where she retired in 2002. Later, she joined her husband’s business, Williams Electronics, where she ultimately served as Chief Executive Officer before retiring once more. Throughout her careers, she left a lasting impact on all who worked with her and maintained several friendships in the years that followed.

During her retirement, Donna embraced her adventurous spirit and became an avid world traveler. She explored numerous new places and cultures both with her sister, Jan, and on her own, traveling throughout the United States, Greece, Australia, France, Russia, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, and Morocco. The memories she made during her travels became treasured stories she loved sharing with family and friends.

Donna was a devoted member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Angola, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. The family is deeply grateful for the support provided by Pastor Daryl, whose kindness brought comfort and peace during the last few years.

Donna possessed a rare gift for making others feel cared for. Her nurturing spirit touched countless lives, and she made everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. It was nearly impossible to leave her presence without a smile.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Chandler Place in Kendallville for the friendship, compassionate care, and genuine love they shared with her. Their kindness enriched her life and brought great comfort to both her and her family.

Above all, Donna will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, faithful friend, and gracious caregiver. She believed the greatest gift you could give another person was to make them feel loved, and she lived by that belief every day.

Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of unconditional love will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.  Pastor Daryl Emowrey will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 11-12 Noon, Monday July 13, 2026, prior to the service at the funeral home.
