Gerald Z. Miller

ANGOLA - Gerald Z. Miller, 91, of Sebring, Florida, and Angola, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center. Mr. Miller was born June 16, 1920, to Jack Daniel and Vera Lonsbury Miller in Pleasant Lake, Indiana, and grew up in Flint. He served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant during World War II. Arriving home, he married Kathryn Jane Parrish of Angola on December 15, 1945, and the couple had two daughters and one son. Mr. Miller was an Electrical Engineer for Northern Indiana Public Service Company until his retirement in 1980. He was an active member of the Angola Masonic Lodge since 1953, serving as Master of the Lodge in 1960. He moved to Florida in 1980 where he resided until his death. He was an active member and friend of the Heartland Christian Church in Sebring, Florida. Gerald is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jane Miller of Angola, Indiana, and Sebring, Florida; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judith Ann and Chuck Rheutan of Salem, Ohio, and Vickie Lynn and Michael Osborne of Angola, Indiana; one son, Marty Miller of Angola, Indiana; one brother, Shirley Miller of Angola, Indiana; three sisters, Geraldine Rowe of Angola, Indiana, Ladonna Haskins of Okeechobee, Florida, and Twilith Wray of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Olivia K. and husband Kasson Bratton; Mark Osborne, Burton Rheutan and Jill Rheutan; and one great-grandchild, Harris Michael Bratton. A Military Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana, with Pastor Jason Rains officiating and the American Legion Post 31 participating. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 3, 2012 ,at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana, with a 3:30 p.m. Masonic Service by the Angola Masonic Lodge.
