Gisela Charlotte (Schleger) Jenkins

PLEASANT LAKE

Gisela Charlotte Jenkins, 87, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, died on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Angola, Indiana.

Gisela was born on September 3, 1937, in Beuthen, Germany to Erich and Katharina (Oehr) Schleger.  She married Jon Jay Jenkins on April 19, 1975.

Gisela was a realtor.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Angola, Indiana.  She was also a member of the Angola and Pleasant Lake Red Hat Society, Angola Moose Lodge Auxiliary and the Steuben County Literacy Coalition.

Surviving are her three daughters, Kathy (Rey) Malonjao of Huber Hights, Ohio, Sandra T. Spieth of Quincy, Michigan and Annie (Jeff) Derouin of Angola, Indiana; stepchildren, Scott (Kelle) Jenkins of Lansing, Michigan, Kelly (Tim) Simons of Orland, Indiana, Cheryl (Rick) Grace of Angola, Indiana and Craig (Laura) Jenkins, of Temperance, Michigan; brother, Manfred (Jacelyn) Schleger of West Vancouver, British Columbia and sister, Anke Pereira of Munich, Germany.  Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jon Jay Jenkins; two sons, Eric H. Smith and Everett J. Smith and her brother, Pookie Schleger.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.

Final resting place will be in Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.
