Gloria Ellen (Strawser) Stackhouse

Gloria Ellen Stackhouse, 87, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Angola, Indiana.

Gloria was born on November 7, 1936, on her family’s farm in rural Steuben County, Indiana to Wayne and Esther (Ulmer) Strawser.  She graduated from Salem Center High School, Salem Township, Steuben County, Indiana.

Gloria married the love of her life, William L. “Bill” Stackhouse on February 23, 1957.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her Faith was very important and comforting to her and she enjoyed going to church.  She was a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ in Angola, Indiana. 

Gloria enjoyed working in the yard and doing puzzles.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sons, William W. “Bill” (Julie) Stackhouse of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jeff (Lurleen) Stackhouse of Las Vegas, Nevada; her daughter, Pamela E. Picklesimer of Holton, Michigan; her 6 beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Katelynn, Samuel, Shae and Erin and her 16 precious great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are her brother, Don Strawser of Fort Wayne, Indiana and sister, Jean Whitecraft of Auburn, Indiana. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 64 years, William L. Stackhouse on January 6, 2022, and siblings, DeWayne Strawser and Ann Roemer.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.  with her son Jeff Stackhouse officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 8, 2024, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, DeKalb County, Indiana.

Memorials in Gloria’s memory may be made to the Pleasant View Church of Christ, Angola, Indiana.
