Hazel Irene Henderson, 91, of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of Angola, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Paradise Pointe in Ormond Beach, Florida.
She was born on September 26, 1932, in Rural Hopkins County, Kentucky to David Edward and Mary Jane (Baker) Hall.
Hazel worked at Dana Weatherhead in Angola, Indiana, for 22 years, retiring on November 1, 1988.
She married Waldo Henderson on August 31, 1974.
Hazel was a 68-year member and Past Matron of the Ashley Chapter #229 Order of Eastern Star. She also served as the Grand Representative of Wyoming. She was a member since 1996 of the Orland American Legion Post 423 Auxiliary and the Angola Moose Auxiliary since 1971.
Hazel enjoyed knitting and crocheting, bowling, playing cards, going to garage sales and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving is her children, Brenda Joyce DeRosia of Ormond Beach, Florida, Albert (Bonnie) Henderson of Orland, Indiana and Carl (Rose) Henderson of Angola, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Barbara J. Henderson of Orland, Indiana, 19 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Waldo Henderson, daughter, Linda Sue Milhollin Stetzel, sons, Steven Alan Berryhill and Billy Joe Henderson, son-in-law, Phil DeRosia, 2 grandsons, Ricky Joe Henderson and Eric J. Forbes and 2 great-granddaughters, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, with a 5:30 PM Order of Eastern Star Service by Ashley Chapter #229 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana with Pastor Mike Hamm officiating.
Burial will be in Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ashley Chapter #229 Order of Eastern Star.
