James Michael Meyer, 78, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026, at home.

Born March 27, 1948, in Colchester, Illinois, James was the son of the Late William August and Wanuita (Fanshier) Meyer.

James was proud to serve his country in the United States Army.  He drove transportation for the Veterans Administration.

James was a member of the Life Changing Church in Angola, Indiana.  He was very involved in the church and enjoyed helping out whenever possible.  He would often be found on Sundays outside the church greeting people before the service time.  He was an inspiration to many people.

Surviving are his daughters, Wenona (Nathan) Miller of Angola, Indiana, Wanuita Dawdy of Jacksonville, Illinois and Sabrina (Josh) Daniel of Jacksonville, Illinois; four grandchildren and his siblings, John and Stella.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 6 PM, Friday, July 31, 2026, at Life Changing Church in Angola, Indiana with Pastor Jason Booher officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Friday, July 31, 2026, prior to the service the church.
