Janis Ann (Truelove) Penick

Janis Ann Penick, 85, of Angola, Indiana, died on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her home in Hudson, Indiana.

She was born on September 13, 1938, in Swan Township, Indiana to Vaughn Ellsworth and Beatrice Flossie (Bauman) Truelove.  Janis graduated from Albion High School in Albion, Indiana.

She married Clarence A. “Junior” Penick Jr. on September 30, 1961.

Janis was a homemaker and had also worked at H&R Block in Angola, Indiana.

She attended Salem Center Presbyterian Church in Steuben County, Indiana and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Angola, Indiana.

Surviving are her children, Carla Gappinger of Hudson, Indiana, Suzan (Douglas) Sanders of Angola, Indiana, Ronnie (Melinda) Penick of Hudson, Indiana, Ramona Penick, Angola, Indiana, Randy (Jane) Penick of Hudson, Indiana, Ronda (Kory) Kleeberg of Hudson, Indiana, Kathy (Chad) Newman of Angola, Indiana, and Karen (Larry) McCulley of Eugene, Oregon, sisters, Jane Lemmon of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Nyla Ebey of Albion, Indiana.  Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence A. “Junior” Penick Jr. on February 27, 2005.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Salem Center Presbyterian Church, 3935 S. 800 W., Hudson, IN 46747.  Pastor Melody Buehrer will be officiating.

Burial will be immediately following the service at Pleasant Lake Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.
