Jerry Paul Kohart, 83, of Lake Gage, Angola, Indiana and of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jerry was born on August 13, 1941, in Paulding County, Ohio to Paul R. and Mary Lois (Johnson) Kohart. He graduated from Oakwood High School in Oakwood, Ohio. Jerry received his business degree from International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana and his bachelor’s degree from The Defiance College, Defiance, Ohio.
On July 1, 1961, Jerry married the love of his life, Sharyn L. English. They enjoyed living life to the fullest.
Jerry began his career working as an Industrial Engineer for International Harvester/Scout Division in Fort Wayne, Indiana for many years. He ended his working career as a Real Estate Broker for Coldwell Banker.
Jerry lived life marked by honesty, integrity, and unwavering faith in Christ.
Jerry worshipped at Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana and Anchor Christian Church in Bonita Springs, Florida.
He enjoyed doing DIY projects around the house, participating in lake and beach activities and watching his grandchildren participate in sporting events. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Sharyn of Lake Gage, Angola, Indiana and Fort Myers Beach, Florida; his children, Michelle Yantz of Warsaw, Indiana and Kirk (Anna Cranston) Kohart of Angola, Indiana and Fort Myers, Florida; his four beloved grandchildren, Kayla May, Michael (Kailey) Yantz, Kent (Britney) Kohart and Hunter (Madison) Kohart and his 6 precious great-grandchildren: Whisper, Porter, Heaven, Cayson, Kai and Kinley. Also surviving are his sisters, Janet (Don) Prowant of Continental, Ohio and Jayne Mussery of Sylvania, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kent Paul Kohart and son-in-law, Rob Yantz.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2025, at The Marina at Lake Gage, 4365 N 700 W., Angola, Indiana 46703.
A brief service will start at 2:00 PM with an open house to follow till 4:00 PM.
