Kris A. Haifley, 56, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at his home.
Kris was born on July 4, 1967, in Angola, Indiana to Harold “Butch” Haifley and Barbara (Mains) Haifley McNeish. He graduated from Angola High School in 1986.
Kris worked for Asplundh Tree Service for many years. After a while, he and his friend started a lawn service business, T & K Lawn Services.
Kris enjoyed racing and he liked watching NASCAR and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Kris raced stock cars as a hobby. He built his very first race car during Shop class in high school and used that car, number 33, to win his first race at the age of 15 at Bryan Speedway.
Most of all Kris loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be missed by all.
Surviving is his father, Harold “Butch” (Carmen) Haifley of Angola, Indiana; Mother, Barbara (Jim) McNeish of Angola, Indiana; his life partner, Cassandra Mason of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, his beloved son, Kyler Haifley of Fremont, Indiana and his grandson, Draven Haifley. Also surviving are his siblings, Gregg Haifley of Washington D.C., Todd Haifley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sherry (Stacy) Flora of New Palestine, Indiana, stepsister, Aubree Ritter of Angola, Indiana; former wife and friend, Linda Miller and his fur baby, Jax.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Betty Mains and Donald and Dorothy Anstett.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 Noon to 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Haifley Pole Barn, 1500 Ozark Street, Pleasant Lake, Indiana 46779.
