Lawrence “Larry” V. Harasim, 82, of Angola, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 30, 2024, at his home in Angola, Indiana.
Larry was born on September 5, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to Vincent and Henrietta (Kosmala) Harasim.
He married the love of his life, Judith A. Jablonski, on October 5, 1963, in Cicero, Illinois.
Larry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Angola American Legion Post 31. Larry was the Veterans Service Officer for the Steuben County Veterans Office for over 25 years. He was very proud to be able to help Veterans maximize their benefits.
Larry and his wife, Judith, owned Coast to Coast Hardware in Angola, Indiana for 7 years and then Lighthouse Books & Gifts in Angola, Indiana for 9 years. He also worked for the Angola Post Office for over 25 years.
Larry was known as Mr. Fix-It. He enjoyed doing DIY projects and solving problems. Larry was always up for a lively political debate.
Surviving are his children, Kathleen M. (Kenneth) Janus of South Lyon, Michigan and Mark P. (Jennifer) Harasim of Brownsburg, Indiana and his two beloved grandchildren, Addison Harasim and Lucas Harasim.
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 56 years, Judith A. Harasim on June 25, 2020, two brothers, Dennis Harasim in 2020 and his twin brother, Kennth Harasim in 2022.
Memorial visitation will be 10 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.
Final resting place will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola, Indiana.
