Leonard Franklin Lude, 83, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Lakeland Rehab & Healthcare in Angola, Indiana.
Leonard was born on October 4, 1940, in Bluffton, Indiana to Robert and Aldine (Gerber) Lude.
He married the love of his life, Esther Mae Clement on June 10, 1989, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Leonard was a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways in Fremont, Indiana retiring in 2002. He also was a school bus driver for Fremont Schools for 4 years before retiring.
Leonard was a member of Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana.
He enjoyed gardening, carpentry work and riding his motorcycle.
Leonard graduated from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He loved his faith and enjoyed spreading the word and reading from the bible.
Surviving is his loving wife of 34 years, Esther Mae Lude of Angola, Indiana, children, Christopher R. (Hannah) Lude of Denver, Colorado, Diana (Mike Linnemeier) Lude of Ossian, Indiana and Jennifer (Daniel) Hartzler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; stepchildren, Steven B. (Barbara) Stuck of Brownsburg, Indiana and Bobbi Jo (George) Seymour of Canton, Georgia. Also surviving are his brother, Teddy Lude of Waynedale, Indiana, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Kevin Lude and siblings, Edith Barrone, John Lude, James Lude and Rosemary Berry.
Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, and from 10-11 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023, prior to the service at Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana with Pastor Joel Greenwood officiating.
Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana immediately following the service.
