Lily May Taylor, 89, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at her home in Angola Indiana.
She was born on October 20, 1932, in Troy, Ohio, to Albert and Irma (Moss) Whitehead. She married the love of her life, Lester L Taylor, on December 10, 1949.
Lily worked at Tenneco Automotive in Angola Indiana for 23 years before retiring.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Angola, Indiana.
Lily was an avid card player and enjoyed playing with her friends and her family. She was a former member of the Angola Moose Lodge Auxiliary.
Lily never missed a chance to go to the casino where she would sit at one machine and play for hours.
She in but enjoyed bowling and sewing. She was known as “The Sewing Lady at Terrace Ridge.”
Surviving is her son, Richard (Treena) Taylor of Hudson, Indiana; daughters, Alice Finton of Hudson, Indiana, Elizabeth (Roger) Lowe of Angola, Indiana, Beverly Tabernero of Orland, Indiana, Patricia (Douglas) Shaver of Angola, Indiana and Lisa (Jimm) Jones of Angola, Indiana; brothers, Peter Whitehead of Jackson, Michigan, Granville Whitehead of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Neil Whitehead of Jackson, Michigan. Also surviving are her beloved 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 14 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 17 years, Lester L Taylor on June 20, 1967; son, Steven Taylor; grandsons, Stephen Finton and Justin Jones and granddaughter, Paige Leland.
