Lionel “Bud” K. Mowry, 94, of Angola, Indiana, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Astral at Auburn into his heavenly home.
Bud was born on September 17, 1930, in Albion, Noble County, Indiana, to Daniel and Mary (Burtzner) Mowry. He graduated from Flint High School in 1948.
Bud went to work at Dana-Weatherhead for 3 years, then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war he returned to Dana-Weatherhead and worked there until he retired on March 31, 1990, after 40 years.
He married Marceille “Marty” Beebe on December 23, 1955.
Bud loved IU basketball and farming.
He was a member of the Angola Church of Christ, Angola American Legion Post 31, George Anspaugh Veterans of Foreign War Post 7205 of Angola, Indiana, the Angola Moose Lodge and he bowled on the Moose League for over 50 years.
Bud was a devoted father and grandfather. He took many trips with his grandsons during summer vacations. Bud enjoyed going to golf matches to watch his grandson Vance play golf. He also went to may band competitions to watch his grandson Seth march in the band.
Surviving are his daughter, Dani Lou (Jon) Parrish of Angola, Indiana; grandson, Dr. Seth Parrish of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Dr. Vance (Ashley) Parrish of Warrenton, Virginia.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana. Pastor Mike Hamm will be officiating.
Military Honors will be by the Angola American Legion Post 31 Honor Guard and the United States Army Honor Guard.
