Lloyd Lynn Lautzenhiser

Lloyd Lynn Lautzenhiser, age 79, of Verdi, NV and Vancouver Island, BC Canada, passed away on June 10, 2023, after fighting cancer for 6 years.  Lloyd Lynn was born in Hamilton, Indiana on November 19, 1943, to Lloyd and Mary Lautzenhiser.

Lloyd was a 1962 graduate of Hamilton High School and graduated from Tri-State College in 1965 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  He later received his master’s degree in Electrical.

Engineering in Seattle, Washington.  Lloyd was employed by McDonnell Aircraft, Boeing, and Texas Instruments before forming his own company, Emhiser Research, Inc., in Verdi, Nevada.  Over a span of 40 years, Lloyd was granted more than 70 patents, many of which are used in defense systems for the U.S. military.

In December 1969, Lloyd Lynn and Silvia Meston were married in the Metz Christian Church.  They began their journey together in Ridgecrest, California before eventually relocating to Ontario, Canada in 1983, and later to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada in 2015.  Because of his work, Lloyd remained a resident of Verdi, Nevada, but he returned to his beloved property on Vancouver Island whenever he could.

Lloyd loved helping people and many, both friends, family, and strangers, benefited from his willingness to help whenever he became aware of a need.  Lloyd especially loved spending time with his grandsons, Gabe and Sam, and took great delight in teaching them to drive his many antique cars and farm machinery.  Many other children benefited from sharing in Lloyd’s fun whenever they visited with Lloyd and Silvia.  Lloyd also loved civil war history, researching and visiting old railroad lines in Canada and the U.S., and collecting antique cars and farm machinery.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Silvia, his son, Aaron, daughter-in-law, Lauren, and grandsons, Gabriel and Samuel.  Also surviving are his sister, Elizabeth Gilbert of Metz, and a brother, John Lautzenhiser of Hamilton.  Preceding Lloyd Lynn in death were his parents, Lloyd and Mary Lautzenhiser, a sister, Mary, a brother, Gary, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Malcolm and Louise Meston.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Weicht Funeral Home in Angola, IN at 10:30 AM, with visitation from 10-10:30 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
