Nancy A. (Mitchell) Lutz

Nancy A. Lutz, 73, of Hamilton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, September 15, 2023.

She was born on November 6, 1949, in Portland, Indiana to Joseph and Marcella (Owens) Mitchell.  She graduated from Portland High School then graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Nancy married the love of her life, Don E. Lutz, on Nov. 11, 1969.

Nancy was a very highly regarded artist.  Her paintings hung everywhere from local businesses in Steuben County to museums and private collections all over the world.  The Fort Wayne Museum of Art also displays a collection of her works.

Surviving is her loving husband of 53 years, Don E. Lutz of Hamilton, Indiana; her sister, Susan Ihrie of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four nephews, Joe Swinford, Tom Swinford, Pete Swinford and Ben Swinford and her niece, Brianna Ihrie; and great-nephew Tanner Ihrie and great-niece, Tori Aldrete.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

Following Nancy’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
