Penny Severe Obituary

Penny Sue (Pence) Severe, 73, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Penny was born on November 17, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana and raised by Robert and Goldie (Page) Pence in Swayzee, Indiana. She was a 1969 graduate of Oak Hill High School and worked for Landscape Forms & Bronson Precision Products as a Buyer. Penny was adopted at birth and was excited later in life to learn who her biological mother was. She also learned that she had 4 half-brothers from her biological mother and was able to reconnect and get to know her brother Don.

Penny had a passion for her family and friends and would do anything for those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother and Mimi to her grandchildren. She was an amazing gift giver. All it took was a passing comment of something you might like, and it would be under the tree that Christmas. She very much enjoyed Christmas time with her family and was passionate about getting everyone together each year and making cookies with the grandkids. It didn’t matter how old you were, you always got a stocking at Mimi’s house.

Surviving is her loving husband of 26 years, Rex Severe of Angola, Indiana; daughter, Dawn (Anthony Zimbone) Kuhse of Boston, Massachusetts, son, Mike (Beth Sweeney) Schaaf of Portage, Michigan, stepsons Shawn Severe of Wolcottville, Indiana and Chad (Monica) Severe of LaGrange, Indiana. She also leaves behind her 9 beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Brittany, MacKenzie, Brooklynn, Luke, Tom, Emily and Dylan. Also surviving is her brothers, Don Fuller, of Tupelo, Mississippi and Ron Fuller. Penny was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Goldie Pence, Birth mother Patsy (Smith) Fuller, her brother Ronald Pence, and 2 half-brothers Glenn Fuller and Richard Fuller.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
