Phillip R. Smith

Phillip R. Smith, 84, Angola, Indiana and Carlsbad, California, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on May 20, 1938, in Angola, Indiana to Richard and Alice (Cleckner) Smith.

Phillip was a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Larry) Apodaca of Carlsbad, California; sister, Judy Eaton of Angola, Indiana; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two wives, Tsuyako Smith in 1993 and Colrinda Smith in 2021.

Private military burial took place in South Scott Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
