Phyllis J. “Winnie” Strang, 90, of Fremont, Indiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Lakeland Rehab & Health Care Center, Angola, Indiana.

Phyllis was born on February 6, 1936, in Fremont, Indiana to Virgil K. and Evelyn J. (Kemmerling) Smith. 

Phyllis was married for over 71 years to the love of her life, Vernon Elton Strang.

Vernon and Winnie owned and operated V&P Printing in Fremont, Indiana.

She and Vernon were members of the local Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.  They enjoyed taking motorcycle trips and had almost driven on the bike in every state.  Most of all she loved spending time with family.

Surviving are her children, Rick Strang of Angola, Indiana, Pam Maxwell of Pheonix, Arizonia, Randy Strang of Prescott, Arizonia and Rus (Brigelle) Strang of Angola, Indiana.  Also surviving are his 3 beloved grandchildren and two precious great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Vernon Elton Strang on September 25, 2025.
