Ramona May Lowe, 91, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 in Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana.
She was born March 23, 1925 in Montgomery, Michigan to LaVern and Helen (Gifford) Snyder. She married Edmon Mortorff on October 19, 1947 and Maurice Lowe on August 8, 1970.
Ramona graduated from Edon High School and received her secretarial certificate from Tri-State College, Angola.
She retired from the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County after 24 years of service. She also was the organist for Flint United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola for many years. She volunteered to play the piano for several nursing homes in the area.
Ramona was a member of the Flint United Methodist Church and the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Ladies Aide, Evening Musical Club and the RSVP.
Surviving is her son, Keith “Shorty” Mortorff of Angola; two daughters, Judy (Dr. R. Wyatt, Jr.) Weaver of Angola and Linda (Roger) Fulton of Fremont; 5 step-children, Harold (Rose) Lowe of LaGrange, Allan (Joyce) Lowe of Howe, Bonnie (Hal) Pairan of Angola, Roger (Elizabeth) Lowe of Angola, Nancy McKee of Buffalo, MO, three grandchildren, Nichole Fulton, Michael Fulton and R. Wyatt Weaver III; and four great-grandchildren, Jaylen Barnfield, Jayden Barnfield, Payton Fulton and Gracie Fulton; Sister-in-law, Phyllis Nall of Knoxville, Tennessee; 12 step-grandchildren, many step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Edmon Mortorff on December 8, 1967 and Maurice Lowe on April 29, 1998.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola with Pastor Tamra Gerber officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials in Ramona’s memory may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the Flint United Methodist Church.
