Ray J. Malston, 92, of Avilla, Indiana, formerly of Angola, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 in Provena Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Avilla, Indiana.
He was born August 26, 1924 in Alexandria, Indiana to Louis and Huldah (Willey) Malston. He married Ida E. Aborn on March 31, 1945.
Ray was an engineer at Moore Business Forms in Angola.
He served his country in the US Navy, serving in WWII. He was a member of the Angola American Legion Post 31, Alexandria American Legion Post 24 and the Angola VFW Post 7205.
Ray had previously attended the Mount Zion Methodist Church. He was a member of the Angola Moose Lodge and the Angola Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his daughters, Margaret Malston of Lyles, Tennessee and Penny (Richard) Trzynka of New Haven, Indiana; Son-in-law, Rob Muratori, Columbia City, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Beth (Marvin) Paschal, Sarah (Justin) Tockey, Lisa (Rick) Walls, Erin Campbell, Tristan Malston, Griffin Malston and Travis Malston; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida E. Malston on August 23, 1999; two daughters, Cathy Malston and Linda Muratori; grandson, Craig Jones; three brothers, Elmer Malston, Lester Malston and Albert Malston and sister, Velara Widener.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.
Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana. Military Honors will be by the Angola American Legion Post 31 and Angola VFW Post 7205.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, October 28, 2016 and 10-11 AM on Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials in Ray’s memory may be made to the Angola Moose Lodge or Mooseheart.
