Robert Randall Hanson

Robert Randall Hanson, 57, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on May 16, 2023, at his home.

Robert was born on March 15, 1966, in Pontiac, Michigan to John Robert Hanson and Theresa H. (Kuttkuhn) Sutton.  He graduated in 1985 from Walled Lake Western High School in Walled Lake, Michigan.

He was proud to serve his country in the United States Army.

Robert married the love of his life, Mattie L. Lawson on November 11, 2022.

He worked for Cardinal IG in Fremont, Indiana.

Robert enjoyed fishing, woodworking and feeding the birds outdoors.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving is his wife, Mattie L. Hanson of Angola, Indiana; son, Dennis John Smith of Michigan; stepchildren, Paul (Erica) Wietecha of Angola, Indiana, Robert Wietecha of Angola, Indiana, Kenneth (Hali) Turvill of Camden, Michigan and Anthony Roe III of Fort Wayne, Indiana.; his mother, Theresa H. Sutton of Wall Lake, Michigan; brother, James L. (Patrice) Hanson of Delphos, Ohio and sister, Dawn L. (Peter) Harrington of Orlando, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Robert Hanson, two stepdaughters, Tempest Smith and Mary Roe; step-son, Jason Wietecha and a sister, Faith Zaremba.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Divine Family Church, 139 E. Michigan Street, Reading MI  49274 with Pastor Jim Mason officiating.
