Robert "Big Bob" W. Allshouse

Robert “Big Bob” W. Allshouse, 86, of Angola, Indiana, passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

He was born on July 24, 1937, in Paulding, Ohio, to Lester H. and Dorothy M. (Coon) Allshouse.  He graduated from Paulding High School in 1956.

After graduation, Bob married his sweetheart, Deanna Cottrell, on December 2, 1956, and moved to Indiana.

He retired from Angola Wire on December 31, 2015, after 50 years of service.

Bob enjoyed farming and running his bulldozer.  After retirement, Bob and Deanna loved watching their grandchildren play sports and compete in horse shows.  They enjoyed spending their winters in Sebring, Florida, where he enjoyed golfing, fishing, calling Bingo, playing Poker and spending time with their friends.

Surviving is his loving wife of 67 years, Deanna Allshouse of Angola, Indiana; his children, Vicky (Larry) Begley of Keosauqua, Iowa, Susie (Gene) Huss of Fremont, Indiana, Julie (Chris) Piepenbrink of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Bobby (Susan) Allshouse of Angola, Indiana; his 10 beloved grandchildren and 14 beloved great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Judy) Allshouse, Muncie, Indiana, David (Carla) Allshouse of Bryan, Ohio and Richard (Gail) Allshouse of Centennial, Colorado and sisters, Jean (Terry) Baker of Fostoria, Ohio and Nancy (Norm) Larsen of Bremen, Indiana.

Bob will be laid to rest in a private graveside ceremony with his family.

Final resting place will be in Flint Cemetery, Steuben County, Indiana.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2-5 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Angola Commons Hall, 201 S. John Street, Angola, IN  46703.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Big Bob’s memory may be made to Heartland Hospice.
