Ruth Cathryn (Myers) Elett, 90, of Angola and formerly of Leo-Cedarville, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Angola.
She was a baker and cook at Leo Elementary School for several years before retiring.
She was born March 1, 1924 in Adams County, Indiana to Floyd and Wilma (Tinkham) Myers. She married Richard Elett on August 24, 1946.
Ruth was a member of the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, Angola. She was also a member of the Steuben Council on Aging, Home Demonstration Club, Angola and the YMCA of Steuben County.
Surviving are three sons Steve (Pauline) Elett of Angola, Thomas (Karla) Elett of Fort Wayne and Timothy (Darlene Heiser) Elett of Allegan, Michigan; one daughter Julie (Ron) Dillon of Leo; one brother Herbert (Ruth) Myers of Berne; one sister Alice (Bill) Patterson of Berne, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Elett on May 20, 2007; two brothers James Myers and Harold Myers; one sister Izorah Myers and her special friend Carl Geimer.
Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola with Rev. Thomas E. Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-6 Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Weicht Funeral Home and from 11-12:00 Noon, Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Steuben County Council on Aging, Steuben County YMCA or the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, Angola.
