Steven Lee Harter

Steven “Steveroni” Lee Harter, 57, of Angola, Indiana, lost his long-fought battle with illness and passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

He was born on July 18, 1965, in Angola, Indiana to Wilbur Dean and Lois Joan (Sonner) Harter.  Steven graduated from Angola High School in 1983.  After graduation, Steve joined the United States army and served as a military policeman.

Steven enjoyed hunting deer and turkey and taking care of his car. 

Steven loved all kinds of music, but especially he liked the Grateful Dead.  He considered himself a “Deadhead.”

 Surviving are his Life Partner, Rebecca “Becky” Byrd of Angola, Indiana; two stepdaughters, Amber (Anthony) Adams of Fremont, Indiana and Ashley Byrd of Angola, Indiana; siblings, Ronald D. (Lisa) Harter of League City, Texas, Josie M. Stevens of Angola, Indiana and William “Bill” E. (Shari) Harter of Angola, Indiana; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Following Steven’s wishes, there will be no services.
