Sue E. Baldwin

Sue Baldwin, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at Parkview DeKalb Hospital in Auburn, IN.

She was born on August 21, 1933, in a house by the Nevada Mills millpond in Steuben County to Cleon and Rozena (Munger) Jackson. Sue graduated from Angola High School and Milligan College in Johnson City, TN. She became a teacher after earning her degree in physical education and health sciences and taught school at Angola High School. She also taught tennis and racquetball at Tri State (Trine) University and was a member of Psi Iota Xi sorority while starting her family in Angola.

She lived on Lake Michigan in Holland, MI for almost 40 years with her beloved husband John, who predeceased her in 2009. Sue loved to snow ski, ride her bike, and watch tennis (especially the French Open). She was also an advocate for the Holland Area Arts Council. Sue had a beautiful smile, was always warm and welcoming, loved her family dearly, and she was known for making the best chocolate mousse and egg soufflés.

She is survived by her daughter Melody (Trent) Roush-Heidorn, son Jeb (Amy) Baldwin and son Jason (Annabelle) Baldwin, four  grandchildren, Jake, Mya, Jacques, Tristan, and her younger sister Linda (Ewers) Herndon. Her brother Cleon “Bud” Jackson passed away  November 23, 2015.

A funeral service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Sunday, November 3rd at the Nevada Mills Community Church, 4710 West Bachelor Rd, Angola, IN.   Visitation is at 1 pm followed by the funeral at 2 pm.
