Tony R. Culver, 76, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his home.
Tony was born on May 2, 1948, in Garrett, Indiana to Donald L. and Dorothy B. (Zimmerman) Culver. He graduated from Angola High School in 1960.
Tony had worked for many years as an Insurance Agent at Croxton & Roe Insurance Company, Angola, Indiana before retiring.
He was a member of the Angola Christian Church. Tony was also a member and Past Governor for the Angola Moose Lodge and received the Moose Fellowship degree. He was a member of the Angola Masonic Lodge #236, Mizpah Shrine Temple and the Royal Order of Jesters as well as being a member of the Angola Elks Lodge and Garrett Eagles.
Tony served as the Chairman of the Steuben County Republican Chairman for multiple terms and was an official of the Indiana Republican State Committee.
Surviving are his nieces, Julie (Rick) Smith of Angola, Kathee Barton, Diann (Garry) King and Barb Barton; sister-in-law, Lana Culver of Angola; and Cousins Rex (Judy) Barton of Elkhart., Al Christoules and Mitch (Sandy) Christoules. Tony is also survived by his immediate family unit: son Tyler Johnson and grandchildren, Wyatt Hess, Nevaeh Johnson and Kayla Johnson, who loved Tony and served him well in his later years of life. All reside four blocks from Tony in Angola and visited him daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Tim Culver and nephew, Jeff D. Culver.
Funeral Services with a Masonic Services will be at 12 Noon, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Weicht Funeral Home in Angola, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10-12 Noon, Wednesday, April 23, 2025, prior to the service at the funeral home.
There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the service at the Angola Moose Lodge, 108 N. Martha Street, Angola, Indiana 46703.
The Final Resting Place will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana.
