Walter Fletcher "Pottsie" Potts

Walter Fletcher “Pottsie” Potts, 80, of Hudson, Indiana, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his home.

Walter was born on April 14, 1943, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to George and Vernice (Reichelderfer) Potts.  He graduated in 1961 from Newberry High School in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  He always felt that Lake Superior was his true home.

Walter married Connie L. Mason on July 2, 1978, at Pokagon State Park in Angola, Indiana.

He was a millwright and was a member of the Union Millwrights Local #1029.

Walter was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict.

He was a member of the Orland American Legion Post 423; Angola Masonic Lodge #236 and Fort Wayne York Rite.

Walter enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool and also playing cards, especially cribbage.  He found a lot of joy watching his grandchildren play sports.  Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving is his loving wife of 45 years, Connie L. Potts of Hudson, Indiana; daughters, Pamela (Michael) Cross of Clarksville, Tennessee and Nichole (Phil II) Ramey of Kendallville, Indiana; son, Shane Potts of Wolcottville, Indiana and sister, Jean DeLong, age 97, of Antwerp, Ohio.  Also surviving are his 7 beloved grandchildren, Kayla (Travis) Cross, Talulah Cross, Jackson Cross, Brooks King, Jacob Ramey, Ian Ramey and Cylas Ramey and his 5 beloved great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Orland American Legion Post 423, 6215 N. St. Rd. 327, Orland, IN  46776.

Memorial donations may be made in Walter’s memory to the Orland American Legion Post 423.
