Waneta (Lepley) Tagtmeyer

Waneta Tagtmeyer, 98, of Angola, Indiana peacefully passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Lakeland Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana.  

She was born May 9, 1918 to Guy and Gladys Spangler Lepley.  She married Charles William Tagtmeyer on October 27, 1940.

Waneta was a member of the Angola United Methodist Church and a member of several women’s clubs through the church.  She was member of the Order of Eastern Star, Ashley Chapter 229 for over 75 years.

Surviving are her sons; John Charles (Donna) Tagtmeyer of Angola, Steven David (Jill) Tagtmeyer of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Michael Joseph (Jeri) Tagtmeyer of Fremont, Indiana; daughter, JoAnn Joyce (Bob) Schaab of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Jim Lepley of Ashley, Indiana; sisters, Joyce Meyers of Rocky River, Ohio, Sharon Miller of Hudson, Indiana and Karen Dilley of Auburn, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Melissa, Jennifer, Tim, Christina and Stephanie and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles William Tagtmeyer on July 23, 2014; 7 brothers, Udell Lepley, Winfred Lepley, DeWayne Lepley, Bud Lepley, Ted Lepley, Richard Lepley and Lynn Lepley and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Angola United Methodist Church with visitation from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Pastor Tracey Zimmerman will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.

Burial will be in Circle Cemetery, Hudson, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and to the Angola United Methodist Church.
