Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Crooks of Angola, Indiana died Friday, February, 22, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on April 6, 1933 in Monroeville, Indiana to Elza Michael and Margaret Lenington.  She married Matthew C. Crooks on September 1, 1951.

Mrs. Crooks had managed several local businesses in Steuben County.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, Indiana.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Angola and was a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Surviving are her children, Tim (Jo Ellen) Crooks of Angola, Jeff (Martha) Crooks of Angola, Douglas (Tena) Crooks of Kendallville and Deb (Mark) Gropp of Orland, Indiana.  Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents and her husband Matthew C. Crooks on October 18, 1994.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM, March 1, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Waterloo, Indiana.

Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Waterloo.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana.

Memorials may be made to the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County, Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church or Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Your mother was a great lady! I remember working with her in the 90's at Kmart. My deepest sympathy to the both of you and your family.

Tim and Family,
So sorry to hear of Libby's passing. Always looked forward to seeing her selling cookies at the Angola Civil War days. Always enjoyed visiting for a minute. Matt and Libby were the best friends anyone could have.
