Dorothy M. Anstett, 90, of Pleasant Lake died on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana.

Dorothy was born on April 13, 1927 in Auburn, Indiana to Russell and Irene (Goe) Zitzman.  She married Donald Lee Anstett on December 21, 1947.

She worked at the MSD of Steuben County for over 50 years.  She was a cook in Food Services at Pleasant Lake Elementary and Angola Middle School.  She also was a school bus driver and Ticket Taker at all the sport games.

She was a member of the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church for over 50 years along with the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church Women’s Group.  She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge 35 and the Sugar & Spice Homemakers Club.  She wrote the Pleasant Lake News for the Steuben County Republican.  She was sexton of the Pleasant Lake Cemetery for many years.  She was a charter member of the Steuben County Township Fire Department Auxiliary and started the coffee club at the fire house in Pleasant Lake.

Surviving are her children Butch Anstett (Carmen) Haifley of Angola, Robert L. (Sandra) Anstett of Pleasant Lake, Cindy K. Anstett of Angola and Steven P. (Carol) Anstett of Pleasant Lake; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Lee Anstett on January 16, 1997.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday October 30, 2017 at the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church with Pastor George Foulk officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Sunday October 29, 2017 at the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church and from 10-11 AM on Monday prior to the service at the church.


Memorials may be given in Dorothy’s memory to the Pleasant Lake Baptist Church.
