To the family and fellow friends of Dave, my condolences. I'll share a little story: On a cold South Korean evening Dave and I were tent-mates. But because of us being so high-speed, we didn't build any old tent, oh no. Ours was the deluxe version. We had it going on--the envy of the platoon. Even our platoon Sgt., SSGT. Ken Strickland commented on how well it looked. Angles and shapes of the imagination! Dave and I spent the night freezing our butts off, while our not so high-speed brethren were warm and toasty in their buttoned-up shelter halves. I know when I get to the gates, a certain someone will be looking out for a brother. Thanks in advance!

Dave - I will always remember you as Cpl. Grandin - young, vigorous and a rock-steady Recon stud. They say a military man never dies as long as there is one man left to tell his story. Well, you are going to live forever buddy, because all of the Aka' Koa' at Alpha company will tell your story for a long, long time. God bless you, forever. Kent

So sorry for your loss! Davey was a good friend and brother of mine from the Marine Corps in Hawaii over 30 years ago! I came to visit him many times at the hospital and rehab places in Indy! On 1 occasion, I even brought about 20 of the guys from our old unit with me! We had such a good time reminiscing with him, and for one day, we were 18 and 19 year olds again! I will miss my friend, but I will never forget our friendship!
