Wendell “Dean” Nichols, 75, of Angola, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 in Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL.
He was born December 8, 1939 in Steuben County, IN to Ford Guy and Dorthea (Penick) Nichols. He married Marie J. DeVolder on August 25, 1958.
He retired from Dana-Weatherhead in Angola and was a member of the Steuben County Antique Tractor Association.
Dean is survived by his wife Marie J. Nichols of Angola; three sons Jim and Julie Nichols of Hamilton, Terry Nichols and Linda Fetter of Angola and Steve and Julie Nichols of Angola; one daughter Julie and Norman Pfafman of Angola; three sisters Betty J. Berry of Fort Wayne, Mary Jane Thomas of Bronson, MI and Gladys Marie Nichols of Angola; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas Dean (Kayla) Pfafman, Holly Marie Spaulding, Bailey Rose Pfafman, Brittany (Tyson) Chamberlain, Brandon Nichols, Jeremi (Darla) Nichols, Andrew Nichols, Chris Fetter, Heather Fetter, Brianna Nichols and Nathaniel Nichols and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Gerald Nichols and Wayne Nichols.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola with Pastor Brad Belcher.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland.
Memorials may be given in Dean’s Memory to the American Heart Association.
